People Who Get Angry With Me II

I think it’s an art to play hands in such a fashion that induces rage.

People Who Get Angry At Me

It’s weird. I simply sit at a low limit online table. I buy in for a hefty amount because I don’t like being short and I don’t like rebuying and I like to look like a big man. I sit quietly and play.

At least once, often several times, in a session the chat will go from silence to an explosion of hatred in my direction. It used to bother me and eat at me. Somewhere along the way, my feelings have changed from anger to amusement when the comments fly in my direction. Now I actually watch the chat box eagerly waiting after wacky hands. I have decided to start recording it, because just talking about it just doesn’t quite share how strange and fascinating it really is.

I wish I had started long ago, but I’ll open with one that started yesterday. You must keep in mind that I don’t generally talk much at a table unless someone else opens up the “conversation”. Also, when I’m responding I’m generally trying to just be amusing and/or else trying to propagate the idea that I am a stone cold idiot monkey. Here we go.

Ahhhh, note the bitter resignation and defeat in his voice in the end. At least I heard it that way. Is it wrong for his pain to make me so gleeful? One more disclaimer, I don’t always play like a total donkey, but I do get aggressive and make odd random plays once in a while.

Beggars

If you didn’t know, beggars are rampant on poker sites. There are many ways to deal with them. Ignoring them is fine. One day, however, I was feeling mucho malice in my heart and really annoyed with one particular beggar. So I told him I would certainly transfer him $5. After making him wait 10 minutes while I played, I informed him that the money should be in his account, which of course was a complete lie. “It’s not there!” he replied. After stringing him along for as long as I could, he finally left disappointed. I felt proud of myself.

One time Dave decided to humor and humiliate a certain beggar that had been hounding him. He decided that spending a little money for a good laugh would be worth it, so he told the dude to send him this photo first:

Can you see the despondant look in his eyes?  It warms my heart.

I Raise

What a grand idea I thought. I promised myself I would not miss an opportunity to own one of my own photos like this. So the other day the opportunity presented itself when a beggar appeared on my heads up table. I offered $5 for a photo and the message in handwriting. I got more than I bargained for when the beggar turned out to be a cute girl!

gutshotgavemesomething.jpeg

I did not request the bare ass but it was a nice touch. She also sent me photos of her and a picture of her bare boobies, called me sugar daddy, and sent an invitation to chat on AIM. I politely declined.

I reraise Mr. Dsanchez. I reraise.

Replace Session Ending “Thank You GG” with…

Here’s how my next heads up session ended:

Dealer: Gutshot Jimmy wins the pot ($27.50) with a
straight, Six high
Snokks85: $#@ this

You have no idea how much I love anger directed towards me at poker. Does this make me a bad person? This will be a recurring topic in my blog posts.

Heads Up Destruction

This poor guy might need to loosen up a tad to play heads up. In 17 hands we only saw 5 flops, and unfortunately for him I had monsters almost every time.

The Story So Far

After a pretty long poker break, I’m starting to get my foot wet again. I was offered the generous $1k bonus on PokerStars and was pretty bored here in Korea so I thought I’d give it a try. Being the cheap bastard that I am, I didn’t want to incur the hefty exchange rate and transfer fees to get money online, so I borrowed $2k from a good friend. I ran and played bad at first, losing half of that. When I lose I also lose my appetite for playing so I put off finishing my bonus until almost too late. However I put my nose to the grindstone at mostly $2-4 full ring in the final couple of weeks, played better, and also had a nice run of luck.  The $1k multiplied into over $6k so I managed to pay back the loan and I’m now open for business!

Currently I’m in a state of limbo, not sure of what game to take up. I’m kind of stuck in a $2-4 full ring mentality because it seems really safe and I know my win rate is solid. I’m not sure if moving up is the right thing to do because not only do they play better but they also play different, which means my current style would need an overhaul. I feel I can play in almost any game and be the top player, but trying to decide what’s best for my hourly rate and bankroll is vexing me. I’ve been toying with heads up, 6 max, pot limit omaha, or tournaments. I guess I could also learn NL Hold’em but the few times I’ve played ring games of that I just didn’t have the feel for it. I did fine, but I just don’t feel as comfortable yet with it as PLO. I guess I’ll just mess around and see what happens.
